Camera Chronicles: Ready, set, sail @Bambolim, Goa⛵️-II

“Photographs are a way of imprisoning reality…One can’t possess reality, one can possess images–one can’t possess the present but one can possess the past.”

― Susan Sontag, On Photography

Aquasail – a fun venture we encountered at the Grand Hyatt resort in Goa earlier this month. The plan we opted for had sailing in three boats for thirty minutes each – a catamaran, a laser bahia and a fun boat⛵️.

The wind 🌬is present only in the afternoons and dies down by sunset and so we report by 4:00 pm at the beach front of the resort, after paying up at their office.

You don’t have to know swimming for this sailing adventure on the sea; strap on the life jacket and step into the first boat – a catamaran, its sails had black and white pattern that resembled butterfly’s wings from afar. There is a speed boat patrolling on the horizon and if you do fall overboard, they will haul you in 🚤.

There is also an Aquasail staff in the catamaran to steer it; so sit back, enjoy the breeze, the waves and the calm all around. You sail far out into the sea and in no time, you are a mere speck on the horizon 👇.

Next up is the laser bahia, a proper boat and here too an Aquasail person will take you forth and back. It’s soon sunset, but the winds are strong enough to take you along.

The last is the fun boat or you also have the option for kayaking. We chose the fun boat and in this you are on your own. The wind will again guide you out.

But soon, the winds did die out and the fun boat was nudged back to the shore with the help of the patrolling speed boat.

It was a glorious sea side sunset in Goa and being out at sea was an exhilarating experience; made one very hungry too ! The Aquasail team made it a safe and memorable sailing experience !!

Wishing everyone a fun weekend ahead 🌅

Till next post, take care !!
