Purple in winter 💗, the warm colour can dispel any winter blues❄️. December didn’t see much rain in Bangalore; mornings and evenings were cold and windy while the afternoons were bright and sunny ☀️. It was good weather and these plants seem to be enjoying it. The flowers like the sun and the colour is an absolute delight to behold everyday. They are planted along a boundary wall of our apartment complex and make a beautiful skirting. Come January, they are still in bloom 💮.

I know it as Vadamalli; it’s purple shade is much sought after for the Onam pookalam (floral carpet) and it makes the whole pookalam design stand out. Another memorable reference of the colour is for wedding saris; the Vadamalli colour is festive and anyone who wears the shade grabs attention🥻

I love the colour and the joy it radiates 💗
