The winter months have dulled the colour of the gardens around our apartment complex. From my balcony, I can see the that the champa tree (White Frangipani) has shed all its leaves and has gone into hibernation.

But near the champa tree a splash of orange has bloomed; it’s the Bird-of-paradise flower 🐝; the sunburst orange, the deep shades of blue and the line of red with purple, it’s a beauty !!

A unique inflorescence; only nature can create harmony with such vibrant colours and we can only gape at the creations. A flower that resembles a bird’s plumage; I guess we take inspiration from such creations and make our own lookalikes !! And there are more buds waiting to bloom 🦋.
