A road trip from Bangalore to the distant hills ππ¨ !! October has always been a good month for setting out on road trips. The rains usually cease by October, this year was an exception though; the climate in Karnataka is mild, sunny but not too hot. And in the hills it will be even more cooler and surrounded by trees and mist; sounds divine π. Also the highways in Karnataka are fabulous !!

We set off from home by 7:50 am; we were planning to start earlier; but the late mornings during lockdowns and staying at home has made us late risers. First, enroute we were planning to stop at Sravanabelagola and climb up to catch a glimpse of the famous Bahubali statue atop the hill. We reached Sravanabelagola by 10:30 am and was back on road by 12:30 pm π Sravanabelagola π

We were really hungry after the climb at Sravanabelagola and our immediate priority was to find a place to eat. We don’t pack food for the road trips, but instead prefer to stop at the eateries enroute and find a new taste. But I am picky π. We stopped at yet another famous restaurant chain called A2B. Why wait for the destination, eating out enroute is one of the fun things of a road trip π

We had South Indian specials – Mysuru Masala Dosa, Paper Masala Dosa and Vadas π

Back in the car by 1:30 pm, next stop, hills !!

I recently read Robert Frost’s poem The Roadside Stand and told myself that will stop at the makeshift stalls put up along the roadside and will buy; not souvenirs but some local food.

So where are we !? In the forested and misty hills of Chikmagalur π²π !!
This is our second time in Chikmagalur; the first road trip was a direct one, with no stops in between π Bangalore to Chikmagalur: Road trip π£
Till next post, take care !!
Wonderful!
