Jasmine tree ❀❀

Life got busy and days began to run with the same routine. And then after a gap of maybe a week or more, it rained yesterday evening in Bangalore. After the rain, it felt so cool and nice; it was an open invitation to step out of the house. It resulted in an impromptu evening walk outside, just around our apartment complex.

After the rain

And there it was standing in the corner right next to the rotating gate opening to the football ground. I would have missed the tree if it weren’t for the pretty white flowers strewn all around on the ground underneath. The petals of the flowers looked like jasmine, but unlike the jasmine, it had a long slender stalk connecting the flowers to the base.

And up on the tree, the flowers hung in clusters; they looked beautiful !! They a looked like pretty hanging floral earrings ❀❀. What are these?

Indian Cork Tree

The tree is called the Indian Cork Tree, a name that does absolutely no justice to the pretty white flowers. Akash Mallige or the Jasmine tree seems a more befitting name.

I stood there for a while looking up at this beautiful tree and it’s pretty flowers. Jasmine for me was something that always grew on vines; here was a Jasmine tree ! 😘

Spectacular and a happy discovery in Bangalore !!

Till next post, take care !!
