It’s been a few days since we have seen the sun; the sky is an undulating cover of white and grey with occasional rain and cold breeze. Hailing from Kerala where it’s sweltering hot, the weather in Bangalore is reminiscent of a hill station and it’s lovely π.

The cloudy cold days prompt cravings for hot and tasty food; easy to make but delicious. A stew – chicken or mutton fits the bill perfectly. Occasionally, the food delivery app Big Basket sends across a free product. Once they sent across the ITC Multi Millet mix π Mulling over millet πΎ
This time I got a free sample of coconut milk π.

I normally use the Maggie Coconut powder to make the coconut milk; but this time tried the liquid coconut milk. The advantage of the coconut powder is that the contents can be stored in the fridge for quite a few days after opening the packet for only a few spoonfuls; but the coconut milk definitely has a shorter shelf life once opened. So I used the entire packet in one go. Adding the packaged coconut milk instead of the powder mix gives a richer and more coconutty taste to the stew gravy.

The garlic bread is bought from Carnival, they still visit our apartment every Friday to sell stuff π Sweet Carnival π§ ; a sprinkling of pepper completes the stew π
The recipe of the chicken stew is here π Easy Indian meal (Set #9): Easy and delicious Chicken Stew π²
