POTD: Champa ❀❀

Champa in Bangalore

A reference to the Champa is found in almost all books Indian. It’s sweet scent is what attracts the pen “From across the road, the dense heavy scent of the champak wafts in.” writes Anita Nair about her home in Bangalore in the book Goodnight and God Bless 👉A charming slice of life 🍰📖

I noticed the white flowers in our surrounding garden from the balcony of my apartment. I wanted a closer look. The leaves are dark green, glossy. The white of the flower is pristine and pure and the hint of yellow is picture prefect. I was wearing my mask, so I couldn’t get the famed scent of the flower. I have seen Champas previously; my mom has a pink variant in her garden, but I have never showed any interest.

But suddenly writing about it changes my attitude, I need to get a whiff of the characteristic scent before I write. I venture out again at night to the tree and I remove my mask to take a sniff; yes, it has the sweet smell.

It’s a beautiful flower !!

Till next post, take care !!
