Sunday mornings we have a local vegetable seller set up shop at the apartment complex. And today he had grapes, the slender, seedless green variety. Sweet !! As Ruskin Bond reminded fruits are a compensation for the summer heat. 😎

To know which fruit is in season, you just have to look at the push carts that line the road sides in Bangalore selling fruits, veg and flowers; and now you can see heaps of these green grapes glistening in the sun. The sellers sprinkle water on them to prevent them from wilting and the excess water just trickles down the cart.

Last year by mid March, we received the first set of mangoes from my parents in Kerala; this year we are still waiting.
