We are soon to enter Lockdown 4.0 from 18 May 2020. The PM said yesterday that the new set of rules will be announced on 18th.

I am tried from all the housework; the heat is not helping either. I called my maid asking whether she could come. She said travelling was difficult as public transport and auto rickshaws were not plying.

I asked a friend whether she was calling her maid back. She said that she is planning to visit her parents post end of Lockdown 3.0 on 17 May and on returning she will consider calling her maid back. Lately, the easing of travel across states was announced; but this week the paper announces that Karnataka has made it mandatory for all people entering the state’s borders to go into compulsory paid quarantine in hotels for 14 days, even if they do not have any symptoms. If not complying with the rule, they have to return back. One way travel from Bangalore seems plausible; returning back will be a problem.

New developments everyday !! And speaking of which here is a recent display in a quiet corner of the house. The wine bottles looked too good to throw away and money plant is one of the very few plants that seems to have taken a liking to my home and is growing with gusto.

The vase at the centre is holding Lucky Bamboo; I wanted flowers, but shops are not open and the home deliveries are also not available as flowers are non-essential items in a lockdown.

And a third member of my green family is the Fishbone cactus; it has grown long and I decided to cut it and grow some more. They are the most easiest plants to have around.

Another development are trucks selling food items at apartments. These included a truck selling ITC’s packaged food stuff; a truck from the fast food chain A2B; a truck selling mangoes, tomatoes and other farm produce. People queue up and buy. There was even a truck with an ATM from a bank, if you wanted to withdraw cash.

Even though the routines remain the same, the days are moving fast. Mid of May and soon we will be moving to June – month of the monsoons ☔️.

Till next post, take care !!
