With the house in full attendance and my maid on leave till things cool down, the quantum of housework has increased. Though the washing machine is a household standard, we do not own a dishwasher. And as advised, we are currently on an overdrive in washing our hands more often than ever and liberal in treating them to hand sanitisers and soaps.
At the end of the day, it will be good to give our hands some care and moisturising. All these years I have simply used the body cream for the hands also. Buying a hand cream seemed to be an overkill. Opening one tube after another, resulting what the influencers on YouTube call a “night routine”!? I did not want to get into that. And besides I did not find any hand cream that arrested my attention to think otherwise.
And that’s before I saw the L’Occitane store at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall. The store opened doors there last year. L’Occitane is a French portions and lotions brand with a cult following.
I had my eyes on the Almond Milk Concentrate – the glass jar is so pretty😘; but it’s glass, not suitable for travel and so I decided against it. Instead I bought the Almond Milk Veil with the pump for easy use. I had to choose between the shea butter and almond range – tough choice. The sales lady was kind enough to give me some free samples of the shea butter range to consider for the next purchase.

Back to hand creams and L’Occitane stocks a whole range of them; the price point is attractive and I spent quite some time in front of the counter deciding on which tubes to buy. I ended up buying the Shea Butter and Neroli & Orchidee. The latter has the most amazing smell and the feel, well I don’t need to tell you, the hand cream is silky with no greasy stickiness. So that’s one purchase from their almond range and one from their shea butter range.
And now I am a hand cream convert 💖 and I enjoy the time spent in pampering my hands. And on my way out of the mall, I stopped by The Body Shop and suddenly their range of hand creams also became visible; normally I looked past them. And here I bought two tubes of their Hemp hand cream range. It has a slightly strange and strong smell; I took sometime liking it. But I like it now.
It will be good to remember not to neglect our hands esp. now, with all the heavy duty washing. We need them soft and supple even after we weather this storm.
Till next post, take care !!
