Ikea – the organising haven😊. It was a bit surprising that bypassing the metros like Mumbai and Delhi, Ikea chose Hyderabad to open it’s first store in the country. For outsiders like me, Hyderabad just received another tourist attraction.
The aisles for storage are usually never visible to the customer in any shop, but in Ikea we walked past these aisles to reach the billing counter and they are stacked to reach the ceiling, you feel so tiny. It’s a nice sight !!

We took the flight to Hyderabad; if Ikea is on your itinerary, driving down would be a better alternative; you can carry back so much more stuff in the boot of the car. We were not planning to shop for furniture but still managed to fill our bags with stuff 🙃. And they charge for the carry bags too so…

Their display is so creative and beautiful😘. You just feel like buying the entire display as such.

So what did we buy? Not much. For starters, cutlery, loved the shape and feel😀. Extra cutlery needs a container for storage… so that too.

The kitchen knife set was probably the most expensive item we bought. They are super light and razor sharp. We have to go back though to get the knife sharpener🙃, we forgot to get that.

These cylindrical stainless steel cutlery holders have become a kitchen staple; my cousin has a few she bought from Ikea Dubai.

Storage boxes, these baby pink ones were irresistible !! And you can’t stop with just one 😀.

Not everything was clicked in the boxes. Some pieces are a sheer delight to see everyday. Love this white vase from Ikea 😘.

The tissue holder is another beautiful pick from Ikea; I like it so much better that a tissue box.

After all that walking around, we had to try the food at their famed cafeteria. Food was okayish, cold, so not very appetising.
Below is a set of 4 spice jars, something I wanted to buy; but I keep the respective spoons inside my current spice jars and I was not sure whether they were big enough to hold the spoons, they seemed a bit small, so another time.

Plants – one of the most popular counters in Ikea, I wanted to get one, but I was not sure they would survive the hotel, the plane journey and the taxi ride back home to Bangalore.

The next Ikea is planned in Mumbai and then in Bangalore, so let’s see.
Till next post, take care !!
