I am pretty pleased with myself; I spent the last few hours tidying up and re-arranging the stuff in my cupboard and now admiring the new found order and space. My kid decides to break my reverie with the question “What’s for dinner tonight? “
Hubs is away on work; it’s just me and the kid, I tell him that we have leftovers – mutton stew and bread. ” I want egg ….” says the kid.
“Okay, I will make you an omelette too.” I reply.
“I want egg roast…” says the kid. Realising that this request translates into work for me, he quickly adds ” Bread and egg roast will do.” 😇
I am in a good mood; morning I was out at Phoenix Market City in a shop called Now & Zen – a haven filled with organizing stuff and they were having a sale. I bought a few things. So I tell the kid “I will make you chapati and egg roast.”

Egg roast is a universal favourite and its simple to make – boiled eggs covered in a spicy masala😋, it serves as tasty side for chapatis, appams or even rice. The masala is the usual combo of onion, ginger and garlic; followed with a spice mix of turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and garam masala; last into the pan are green chillies, tomato and curry leaves🌿.

The chapati dough is a mix of the atta (wheat flour), salt and oil. I add a tablespoon of oil while kneading the dough and do not use oil while cooking it.

And dinner is a simple meal Set (#4) – Chapati, egg roast and cucumber salad.

And finally a pic of a few stuff I bought from Now & Zen…

Till next post, take care !!
