If we had the sari emoji, I would have definitely added it. But will have to wait. Nearing the month end and planning ahead, I was thinking of a few gifting options and on top of my list were saris. I need to go shopping and I need company; my cousin would be perfect. Unlike me, she for one can carry off a sari with great aplomb, I admire her choices and envy her knowledge of the different types of saris. When I called her to set a date, she was suffering a bout of vertigo; but after hearing about the plan for shopping, she said that she was instantly feeling better. And yet again, retail therapy has proved to be the cure for many ills !! But there is one catch while I shop for gifts, I like gifting myself a little something too 😁. And that makes me very happy !!
We Ola our way to Taneira on 100 ft road, Indiranagar, Bangalore. Taneira is an initiative by the Tata group into women’s Indian ethnic wear.

But currently there is a sale going on and maybe we will get lucky !! The offer is valid on limited stock, but the saris on discount were gorgeous 😘

The shop itself is an oasis of calm, the display is beautiful. The sales person is kind enough to explain and show us the saris curated from across India.

We browsed to heart’s content and made our purchase. Once outside, we were asked to select a potted plant as a complement. Wow !! That was just the nicest of surprise and the perfect gift. I love it 😍.

I can show you the sari I gifted myself 😘 It’s a beige Vidarbha Tussar silk sari; Vidarbha is a place in the state of Maharashtra. I have never heard about the place before. My knowledge of saris is limited to either cotton or silk; but the sales person at Taneira made sure I understood the beautiful piece of art that I bought and that makes it even more a treasure.

If you are interested, the sale is on till the end of the month.
Till next post, take care !!
