It’s been over 2 months since the last post. I had an exam that required my full attention and concentration; just got over last weekend. My blog had to take a backseat; also put everything else in my life on hold and give the exam my best shot. The exam is held once a year and I hope I make it. With that task out of the way, I am trying to reconnect with everything that was put on mute, beginning with my blog.

The waiting period for the exam results is close to two months and in the meantime, the best advice going around out is to relax and unwind; take it easy. Taking a trip somewhere is the first thought that came to mind; but it’s June, beginning of the new academic and fiscal year; all are busy. So its unwinding at home and I turn to the TV; we have recently taken the free for one month trial offer from Netflix. And with no other pressing matter to attend to, first and foremost task was to complete Game of Thrones. And I did; was completely disappointed with the ending. The build up to the end was fantastic; but the ending, less said the better.
Next, the Umbrella Academy. I loved it, watched the episodes back-to-back, season after season. I am trying to find a favourite among the 7 kids at the Academy, but my vote will be for the assassin duo of Hazel and Cha Cha. The series has a lot of flash backs to explain what led to the present; it also has time travel so, we travel to the future, past, present and sometimes go around in loops and all the while there is a countdown to the impending apocalypse and you can’t switch off till you know how it ends !!
Followed by The Kominsky Method – wanted to watch it from the time I saw Michael Douglas get the Golden Globes 2019, best Actor in a comedy series for his role in it. Written by Chuck Lorre (big fan of Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory), I wanted to know what character was written for the Michael Douglas to entice him to act for small screen. The series and Sandy Kominsky did not disappoint; watched all the episodes is one sitting. The next season is coming up !!
Watched a few Hindi series too, starting with the Selection Day – the story of a father, his two sons and the father’s ambition of making them the no. 1 and no. 2 cricket batsmen in the country. Making it in cricket is the only hope for the penurious family. The elder son shares father’s passion for cricket, while the younger dreams to be an engineer. With the selection day only a few months away, there is always the twist in the tale !!
Then there was the Hindi movie called Chopsticks – the trailer was promising, the feel good movie starring Abhay Deol and Mithila Parkar is worth a watch once.
And now on to Sherlock. I loved the Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr and this series seem promising with Benedict Cumberbatch. First the Ironman playing Shelock, now it’s Dr. Strange playing Sherlock…..kid’s words !!
Till next post, take care !!
