A hill station ? No… A restaurant at the Bangalore airport. School has closed for the kid; he is off to his grandparents home for the holidays. He is travelling alone and I dropped him off at the airport. He was taking an Indigo flight and Indigo has been in the news lately for cancelling flights, claiming shortage of pilots. I lingered at the airport for sometime till I got a confirmation that he cleared baggage, security and was at the gate for boarding. And that’s when I saw the mist being sprayed at this open air restaurant.

Man-made spray of mist to keep the place cool !! Nice and guess that’s where I will have lunch from – the Barley and Grapes Cafe.

I head straight for upstairs; the place was empty, chose a corner table.

The table was a small triangle set against the wall; the centrepiece was a small plant and the little shoot of living green was such a soothing touch.

Famished, ordered a chicken dish called Xavi For President and a glass of fresh lime juice. The pretty plate arrived and the food quickly disappeared. The spraying of mist was happening overhead; it brought on a cool and pleasant tingling sensation on the hot afternoon.

A view of the Bangalore airport from my table…..

I finished lunch, the kid boarded the plane and I am returning home. Misty, misty, nice, nice !!

Till next post, take care !!
