Words for change

Everyone has a list of their favourite quotes, including me.

Let me start with one from Osho; am not a fan, nor a follower, but his words magically flow into you and something clicks. Here’s the full text.

” If you love a flower; don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up, it dies and it ceases to be what you love.

So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.”

Rabindranath Tagore; the following quote was spotted on the wall of a bookstore called Crossword. I keep saying “no” to everything my kid proposes that’s not in line with my way of thinking, as I am sure, that it is not going to end well. Not a smart way to approach things. There must be a better way. But now every time, the kid suggests something, I list out my concerns and if he is able to address them, he gets a go ahead. And the outcomes are pleasantly surprising !!

Angela Duckworth; the sentence below is from her TEDtalk. She says – Grit is the single biggest indicator of personal and professional success, even more than IQ. And the best way to cultivate it is to build a ” growth mindset” that sees circumstances as flexible, not rigid.

Warren Buffet; the most legendary investor of all time. I realised that my credit card bills were overshooting my budget and eating into my savings and Buffet’s words started ringing in my head. And it works. Every time I go shopping, I recite these words and curb on the impulse purchases.
