…. a greeting in Sinhalese, meaning Long life. A 4N, 5D trip to Sri Lanka, covering four places – Bentota, Yala, Kandy & Colombo. Here’s the itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival @Colombo and off to Bentota
Flew SriLankan airlines from Kochi to Colombo. Green Holiday was the local agent engaged for the trip, hired through a travel agent from Kochi.
4:00 pm – Check-in @Cinnamon Bey, Beruwala
5:00 pm – Visit to the turtle hatchery
Day 2 : Bentota to Yala
9:00 am – Check-out after breakfast
9:30 am – Mangrove Boat ride on Madu river
12:00 pm – Galle Fort
4:30 pm – Check-in @Jetwing, Yala
Day 3 : Yala to Kandy
5:30 am – Morning Jungle safari
9:00 am – Check-out after breakfast
1:30 pm – Nuwara Eliya
3:30 pm – Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya
4:30 pm – Check-in @Golden Crown Hotel, Kandy
Day 4: Kandy to Colombo
9:00 am – Check-out after brakfast
10:00 am – Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
12:00 pm – Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
2:00 pm – Check-in @Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo
4:00 pm – Colombo city tour
Day 5 : Check-out and travel back to Kochi
This was the kid’s itinerary in Sri Lanka for 4 days. It was a jam-packed four days and the pain point was the check-in and check-out everyday; four nights, four hotels. You need some R&R after the four days of non-stop travelling. But, all the four hotels were good and in four days you get to go around a small circle and get a glimpse of this tear drop island in the Indian Ocean !!
